Who we are

Our title says it all.... we are a Veterans Assistance Network. We realize that veterans are at a distinct disadvantage when dealing blindly with the powerful forces working against them in their efforts to obtain well deserved VA benefits. In short, the current VA benefits system sometimes appears as if it is set up to categorically deny coverage to the very people that fought and were injured in the course of their duty protecting this great nation.  Each of our veteran advocates have made it their personal goal to ensure that our brother and sister veterans are given a fair shake by this powerful entity. We are nationally recognized veterans advocates with offices located in St. Louis, Missouri. Each of our veteran volunteers donates his or her time advocating veterans cases throughout the United States.

We handle veteran issues across the board with special emphasis on service connected cancer claims resulting from exposure to toxic substances while in the service.  These claims include cancers caused from exposure to asbestos, benzene or other substances often found in and around ships, equipment and other machinery that veterans are exposed to.   If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma or have been affected by exposure to benzene, beryllium, manganese, asbestos, and other toxic substances, our intake counselors can help you obtain your VA benefits .

Our advocates help by locating a Veterans Service Officer from our connections to all Veteran Service Organizations. We also help you find the right veteran friendly legal representation. We can provide to you, free of charge, with no obligation at all, helpful information about mesothelioma , lung cancer, and other treatment options that we hope will answer many of your questions during this difficult time. You'll also learn more about us, and the exceptional and highly experienced veteran advocates of Veterans Assistance Network that takes on a "no one gets left behind" approach for injured veterans.

Mr. Jewett was born in Plainfield, NJ and raised in the MD suburbs. In 1984, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a submarine sailor. After attending ET “A” School and Nuclear Power School, he served on three nuclear fast –attack submarines. In 1997, he was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program and attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. He was commissioned in May 1997 and returned to the submarine force serving in various nuclear engineering billets.

Mr. Jewett earned his Masters of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL in 2004.

After almost 24 years of active duty service in the US Navy, Mr. Jewett retired from active duty and began the process of applying for his disability benefits. He found the process to be so confusing, he set forth on a mission to educate himself as much as possible about the VA and how they process disability claims. From this endeavor, was born the idea for an organization dedicated to educating veterans and assisting them in finding the right kind of help to apply for VA benefits. This quickly led to the formation of the Veterans Assistance Network. The Veterans Assistance Network employs only veteran volunteers trained to guide veterans through the often dizzying process of applying for the benefits they rightly deserve.
